For many years there was a fabric revolution in the United States, where numerous artificial products such as polyester were created. Fortunately, as the population grew more health and environmentally conscious, many of these materials fell by the wayside. Nevertheless, in switching back to natural materials such as cotton, consumers failed to realize the amount of dangerous chemicals these natural fabrics had been exposed to by the time they made their purchases.

Although these chemicals may be invisible to the naked eye, repeated exposure to them increases the chance of certain health conditions to develop. One simply has to look at the prevalence of diseases suffered by those who work in the cotton industry to see this trend. In the case of children, who are more sensitive to such products, the odds of illness are considerably higher.
